Women's Gold Nugget Triathlon
The Gold Nugget Triathlon course offers up a fun and safe course well within the abilities of any novice athlete, young or old.
The swim take place at Bartlett High School and consists of a 500-yard swim. This is a pool swim and most participants will circle swim with other athletes.
The bike leg offers a mostly flat and fast 10-mile course, ending near the Moose Run Golf Course. The 4.1-mile run course should offer fast times for the distance. Participants finish the race back at Bartlett H.S. For an aerial view of the course, view the course map.
A general description follows:
- Swim 500 yards in Bartlett Pool.
- Retrieve bike from tennis court and exit Bartlett via connector path onto Native Heritage driveway entrance.
- Turn hard left onto bike path. Bike to Fort Rich overpass
- Cross over freeway and make a left onto the gunnery range frontage road. Proceed approximately 1 ½ miles and turn around and proceed back to overpass
- Bear to the left onto Arctic Valley road. Proceed about 1 mile
- At the stop sign, turn left heading East on Arctic Valley road paralleling the golf course
- Bike past the driving range and proceed up a short hill to the transition area on your right
- Drop your bike off and run down the hill, crossing the bridge and onto the tank trail
- Run down the tank trail about 2 ¼ miles. Turn right at the fork in the trail and run through the gate at the power plant onto the frontage road
- Run on the frontage road until you make a right turn opposite the ball fields at Centennial Park into the bike path tunnel under the Muldoon onramp
- Follow the bike path onto the Muldoon overpass and continue to the second driveway.
- Turn right into the Bartlett High driveway and follow the road as it bears to the right. Turn left and follow the flags and cones. You can see the finish line from here.
